Toronto-based indie-rockers, Zeus came together in 2005 as the backing band for Broken Social Scene member, Jason Collett. It wasn’t until 2009 that they became a proper band of their own, releasing their debut, ‘Sounds Like Zeus’ on Arts & Crafts. Their new record, ‘Classic Zeus’ draws on all things fun, funky and sunny, melding 60’s psychedelica, Beatles-y bubble gum pop, southern soul and a contemporary spark into a sound entirely of their own.
Zeus is joined by The Penny Arcade, the chamber-pop septet of Portland stalwart, Scott Mohler (of The Lucid & Sha, Sha, Sha) and KGFREEZE, the cross-genre, no-nonsense solo outlet of Kyle Gervais.
The Get Real Gang, the ever-changing rock & roll outfit of Juston Stens, former member of Dr. Dog and Generationals, open the evening.
