NYMPH is a Brooklyn-based seven-piece that produces a heady, ritualistic amalgamation of heavy psych, free-jazz, modern minimalist composition, kosmische kraut, and visionary desert blues. Touring around the release of their album, New Millennium Prayer, out on Northern Spy Records, NYMPH’s present lineup contains current and former members of Dark Meat, Effi Briest, Symbol, Guardian Alien, Gamelan Kusama Laras, among other groups active in New York’s avant-music scene.   The Coalsack in Crux, who play a raw, blues-strewn strain of punk, appear at SPACE for the first time as themselves, having blown us away last Halloween with a spot-on performance as The Gun Club. Experimental folk-pop duo Christy & Emily, comprised of Christy Edwards, a self-taught indie-rock guitarist and Emily Manzo, a classically trained pianist, were once described as sounding like Arthur Russell jamming with Galaxie 500. Haunting vocal harmonies meld with jagged guitar swells and vintage electric piano/organ dreaminess.

You get what you deserve! We’ve added a second screening of Vera Drew’s riotous film The People’s Joker on Sunday, April 21st at 7 pm. Grab tickets now! Saturday’s screening SOLD OUT!
