Founding member of Sonic Youth, composer, visual artist and writer Lee Ranaldo's style of guitar playing has left an indelible mark on a generation of indie musicians. Ranaldo's  2012 LP Between the Time & the Tides mixes electric and acoustic elements, reflective folk songs, bits of jazz, psych and country - as well as straightforward rockers, with ease and confidence. 200 Years is a project of Ben Chasny (of Six Organs of Admittance) and Elisa Ambrogio (of Magik Markers), straw dogs of skull counting, raw talents whose faint whispered folk jams belie darker memories.
