Gianni Schicchi

Gianni Schicchi

Innovative opera director Richard Gammon brings a delightfully unexpected edge to Puccini’s comic masterpiece “Gianni Schicchi.” Sung in English, this uproarious one-act opera presents the story of the Donati family, interloper Gianni Schicchi, young lovers, and various plots to revise the will of one Buoso Donati, who left his money to a monastery.  Enjoy some of the nation’s most promising, up-and-coming talent, including Robert Mellon, Allyson Herman, Stephanie Sanchez and Matthew White, in a rollicking, madcap performance of one of the funniest operas of all time.

Presented by PORTopera’s Young Artist Program, with support from the Margaret E. Burnham Charitable Trust, the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust and The Bob Crewe Foundation.
